Elli Woollard started writing stories after an embarrassing incident in which her youngest son broke Michael Rosen's glasses. Having previously written poetry and picture books including the critically acclaimed The Giant of Jum, Swashbuckle Lil is her first book for newly independent readers to be published with Macmillan.
